I have a 9-week course starting on Thursday the 2nd of February at Luisne Centre for Wellbeing in Bray, from 6.15 to 7.30.
The class will be suitable for all levels of experience and informed by the therapeutic approach to yoga. I believe passionately in molding the yoga to fit your body rather than the other way around. We will gather every week for an hour and 15 minutes to enjoy some mindful movement to connect body, mind and soul, followed by some nourishing breathing practices and finally a soothing deep relaxation to have you leaving feeling calm and grounded.
Our first class on the 2nd of February will honour the goddess of Brigid and welcome in the spring and all that is waiting to awaken within us.
I don't tend to make new years resolutions or feel the need to jump into new routines at the start of the new year as I feel we're still all in hibernation mode but with the coming of spring and the (slight) lengthening of days in early February I feel more called to get out and try new things, so this is why I decided to stay in the gentler, slower pace of winter for the month of January and start this course just in time for Imbolg/St Brigid's Day instead.
Imbolg which literally means in the belly or womb is traditionally for sewing the seeds of what you'd like to manifest in the coming year, just as the seeds are starting to germinate in the soil all around us in the natural world. This is therefore an ideal time for manifestation, starting new projects and building new habits.
