“As a woman you are coded for power, and the journey to realizing the fullness and beauty of that power - your Wild Power - lies in the rhythm and change of your menstrual cycle.”

- Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Hugo

What is Menstrual Cycle Awareness?

As menstruators we’re often taught just to get on with it and make the best of our periods which usually means trying our best to ignore our menstrual cycle and not let it get in the way of our daily lives. This is what I call ‘menstrual survival’. But what if we could use the natural ebbs and flows in our menstrual cycles to thrive rather than just simply survive? I mentor clients on how to work with the 4 seasons of the menstrual cycle, and how, just like the seasons of the year, there are natural times for rest and other high-energy times for work and play.

How to work with MCA

Menstrual Cycle Awareness (MCA) is a chance to connect with yourself and your body in a profound way and really commit to learning to tune into the wisdom of your own unique body through observing the menstrual cycle. This is an incredibly empowering and liberating act and one that is likely to increase your happiness, peace, productivity and relationships, most crucially, your relationship with yourself.

This work is also ideal for those curious about living in a more cyclical way. If you’re someone who experiences burn-out and exhaustion often, or who tends towards bursts of productivity followed by complete crashes, learning to balance your energy in a way that lets you take control can bring great freedom and relief.

MCA Coaching and Mentoring

As a coach, I work with MCA with clients who are interested in learning more about connecting to their menstrual cycle for greater balance and productivity. Depending on your needs, I can weave this work into regular coaching, creativity coaching or lead dedicated sessions in MCA. I allow my work with MCA to be client-led and guided and informed by what is most useful to you. This can include period tracking and finding and predicting patterns for symptoms and behaviour, life-style adjustment to suit each stage of the menstrual cycle, ritual and ceremony to help ground you in each inner season, menstruators’ circles and education for young menstruators.
